Jan's
previous experience as a teacher makes it easy for her to
encourage lasting organizational changes with clients. She
breaks down ideas and expresses them in a way that her clients
can easily understand and put to use right away in their lives.
Jan individualizes or customizes each space to fit each client's
needs. Her work experience in the legal, marketing and corporate
management fields have expanded her problem-solving, time
management and paper management skills for her estate, residential,
and business clients.
Jan began her organizing business in 1998 and is a member
of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and
the NAPO-San Diego chapter. She has been a Golden
Circle member since 2003 (organizers who have had their business
for five or more years).
Jan has held various volunteer positions in NAPO San Diego over the years.
She has also volunteered on committees and events for NAPO. Jan attends
numerous networking groups during the year. Also, she volunteers at the
Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe.
In 2007, Jan earned the prestigious designation of Certified
Professional Organizer® She was among the first
200 in the industry to earn the CPO® designation
in its inaugural year. Certification recognizes professionals
who have met specific qualifications and who have proven through
examination and client interaction that they possess the body
of knowledge and experience required for the professional
organizing industry. The program recognizes and raises industry
standards, practices, and ethics.
She operates according to a simple philosophy: The effective
operation of a space is more important than how it looks.
Each space must fit the personality of the individual client.
Jan's greatest organizing strength is her patience. She stays
with a job all the way through to completion, no matter how
long it takes. Jan is a great motivator, is very methodical,
reliable, supportive, trustworthy, and makes organizing fun!
